The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme (ACVVS) is an Australian Government funded program to recruit volunteers to visit older people in residential aged care or those in receipt of a Home Care package who are socially isolated. These volunteers provide friendship and companionship through visits either one-on-one or in a small group setting.
We recruit, train and support voluntary visitors from different backgrounds and matches them with residents considering cultural appropriateness, interests, time and others. To get a digital or hard copy ACVVS flyer you can download and print the ACVVS Flyer, find translated versions in 63 languages at ACVVS Flyer translations and order printed copies (at no cost) through the NMM Order Form.
By befriending an older person, you can make a positive difference. Senior Australians in aged care are from all social and cultural backgrounds and we encourage all volunteers.
